My family and close friends all know this about me: I am a Birthday Brat. I love love love my birthday, which is in the month of February. What other day of the year do you receive as many phone calls, emails, texts, cards and sentiments from people you love? My birthday has become quite a production with family members competing for the highest number of birthday communiques. They make me feel so special and so loved.
February is also the month when we celebrate Valentine's Day. To celebrate February, the month of "love," I am reducing all of the prices on my paintings for the month. Please check out my Daily Paintworks Gallery and if you see something you like, think about giving the gift of art, a gift for life.
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!
P.S. I have many frames available and am happy to frame at my cost. Contact me if you are interested.

235 Path Among the Cedars
While in Lebanon, we visited the cedar forest at The Garden of the Gods. Many of the trees are hundreds of years old with graceful branches. It was a spectacularly beautiful and peaceful place. Rather than taking down the dead cedars, a French artist carved many of them with faces and one with Jesus on the cross. We saw the tree that is the image on the Flag of Lebanon and the image on the Lebanese passport. Some of the trees were so large that when hollowed by time, two people could stand inside of them. It was a memorable day.

121 North Point Lighthouse With Cloudy Sky
Visiting this lighthouse for the first time was very timely. I was in the midst of reading The Light Between Oceans, a novel by M. L. Stedman, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The story takes place on a small island off Australia, and is about the lighthouse keeper and his wife, the only inhabitants of the island, and a decision they make which will affect their lives forever. The rest you'll have to read for yourself. One of my all time favorite books.
119 North Point Lighthouse and Keepers' Quarters
A climb to the top of this 74 foot tower will amaze you with spectacular views of Lake Michigan, Lake Park, and the city of Milwaukee. The North Point Lighthouse was completed in 1888 and was the second lighthouse to be erected on this site, the first being lost to erosion of the bluff. The lighthouse guided vessels for more than 100 years before its closing in 1994, followed by restoration of the tower and the keepers' quarters. I recently spent an entire Sunday on these grounds, and it has quickly become one of my favorite places in Milwaukee. Sounds like a series of paintings....
